Job Title: Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Job Overview:
As a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), you will be an essential member of the healthcare team, providing specialized and compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients. Your role involves monitoring, assessing, and coordinating care for children with acute medical conditions, ensuring the highest standards of pediatric critical care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients in the PICU, considering their unique developmental needs.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, laboratory values, and other diagnostic data to assess the patient's condition.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to adjust care plans based on the evolving needs of pediatric patients.
• Critical Interventions:
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with established protocols and pediatric critical care standards.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions, implementing life-saving measures as necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians and specialists to perform procedures and interventions as required.
• Family-Centered Care:
• Provide emotional support and education to families, keeping them informed about their child's condition and involving them in the care plan.
• Foster open communication, addressing concerns, and facilitating family involvement in decision-making.
• Collaborate with child life specialists to create a child-friendly and supportive environment.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
• Work closely with pediatricians, pediatric intensivists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, contributing insights and coordinating care plans.
• Advocate for the unique needs of pediatric patients within the healthcare team.
• Documentation and Compliance:
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Adhere to regulatory standards, institutional policies, and quality assurance measures.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance pediatric patient care.
