Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Job Overview:
As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will play a critical role in providing specialized and vigilant care to patients with life-threatening conditions. Working in a high-acuity environment, your focus will be on monitoring, assessing, and implementing timely interventions to ensure the best possible outcomes for critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients in the ICU, interpreting vital signs, laboratory values, and other diagnostic data.
  • Monitor and evaluate changes in patient conditions, responding promptly to signs of deterioration.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to adjust care plans based on the evolving needs of critically ill patients.
  • Critical Interventions:
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with established protocols and critical care standards.
  • Perform and assist with procedures such as intubation, central line placements, and ventilator management.
  • Respond to life-threatening emergencies, providing advanced life support measures as required.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
  • Work closely with intensivists, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, contributing insights and coordinating care plans.
  • Advocate for the unique needs of critically ill patients within the healthcare team.
  • Family Support and Education:
  • Provide emotional support and education to families, keeping them informed about the patient's condition and involving them in the care plan.
  • Foster open communication, address concerns, and facilitate family involvement in decision-making.
  • Collaborate with social workers and chaplains to address psychosocial needs.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards, institutional policies, and quality assurance measures.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance critical care practices.

Salary: Up to $65.00 per hour
