Platinum Recruiting is seeking an experienced Bindery Machine Operator for a premier client in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Great Hours Monday-Friday. Pay $15-20.00 DOE!

A Bindery Operator operates machinery to cut, fold, glue, trim, bind, and finish the final printed product . Reads work orders and sets the machine in accordance with job specifications. Completes trial run and evaluates the quality and appearance of the product. Adjusts machinery as needed prior to starting the project.

Candidate Responsibilities:

• Review job specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold, page size and packing requirements.

• Pre-set side guide, fold plates, fold rollers, and any slitting blades or perforators required.

• Load sheets onto feeder and jog sheets into proper positions to set up folder.

• Adjust machine during production run as required for, adherence to all quality and customer

requirements.

• May jog folded signatures or brochures for use in the next operation or for shipment to customer.

• May operate two or more machines simultaneously.

• Record job information on load tags and time sheets.

Cutter Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold and page or sheet size.

• Measure from edge of sheet using scale to determine incremental cutting positions from guide.

• Enter cutting positions in proper order into computer memory.

• Remove sheets of printed or unprinted paper stack from the load and place them on the cutter bed. Jog and align sheets against the cutter guide .

• Activate computer to move sheets into first cut position. Activate double hand switches to begin cutting

operation.

• Examine cut material for any imperfections and adjust computer program as needed.

• Remove finished or pre-finished material from the cutter bed and stack on pallets for shipment to

• Change knives and lubricate as needed as recommended by manufacturers specifications.

Pay Rate $15-20.00 Depending on experience.
