Job Profile Summary:
This Dual Sales Manager is a key role in driving the overall sales and marketing strategy for the hotel. Individuals serving in this role must monitor group, transient, and contract performance and agreements, quoting rates in accordance with the Company's revenue management strategy, sending referrals, set traces, and managing retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts. This Sales position will oversee two Marriott branded hotels within the San Marcos market. The Sales Manager Dual property is responsible for leading, creating, and managing sales and marketing budgets, strategic deployment of Company resources, forecasting, advertising, and developing business plans to ensure the collection of hotels meets or exceeds its revenue and profit objectives.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Own the sales processes across all assigned hotels to ensure compliance with Company and Brand Using business tools and first-hand observation, analyze market competition, market trends, and identify client needs.
  • Provide strategic, data-based revenue management plans for the hotel including rate development, establishment of group thresholds, space utilization, demand analysis, market mix management, and deployment strategies.
  • Proactively solicit and secure business from new and prospective clients using proven sales strategies aligned with the hotel's brand and vision.
  • Provide collaboration, mentorship, coaching, and training to hotel sales team, continually assessing strengths and opportunities of team members.
  • Ensure effective utilization of selling guidelines to maximize revenue contribution from all segments, employing cross-segment selling strategies when needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate sales calls with the hotel and corporate teams.
  • Manage client contract process including negotiation, provisions, supplemental solution selling, and contract generation, capturing all information necessary for execution and billing.
  • Coordinate and conduct site tours emphasizing features to meet client needs and opportunities to enhance overall satisfaction.
  • Engage in purposeful communication and build long-lasting rapport with clients, creating an open dialogue to uncover client expectations and unrealized needs.
  • Promote hotel brand loyalty programs, encourage client participation, and offer special rate packages and upgrades when appropriate.
  • Effectively communicate with hotel departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of client expectations, fulfillment of needs, and challenge resolution. Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel, including Sales, Food and Beverage, Front Office, Revenue Management, and Reservations.
  • Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations.
  • Attend and/or conduct daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management providing training on a rotational basis.
  • Review business intelligence reports including: STR Reports, HotStats, Amadeus Agency360, other data as developed.
  • Participate in monthly property review meetings.
  • Review P&L results monthly and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Hotel Sales and Marketing - Marriott brand experience highly desired, Residence Inn and Courtyard a plus.
  • Pre-opening, new property experience preferred.
  • Brand Sales certifications highly desired.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Hotel Sales practices.
  • Proven experience in forecasting, and sales planning.
  • Deep understanding of travel industry.
  • Experience with major hotel brands - Marriott preferred (including Hilton, Marriott, IHG)
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Highly developed problem-solving and prioritization abilities.
  • Deadline-oriented and extreme focus on details.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and extended times as required to meet deadlines.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Weekends and Holidays may be required as business needs warrant.
  • Limited travel may be required - less than 20%.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation and the ability to be available at off property meeting sand events with minimal notice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business or a similar field a plus.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
