Plateau Valley Veterinary Hospital LLC is Hiring a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) Near Rifle, CO

Overview:
We are small but growing veterinary practice in the Rifle/Silt area seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced veterinary clinic and make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.

We provide services for the large (5) and small animal species (`) alike. We do not work on birds, exotics or pocket pets.

Duties:

- Answer phones and schedule appointments.
- Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures and examinations
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis
- Take and develop X-rays
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitoring for surgical patients
- Assist with dental cleanings and procedures
- Handle and restrain animals safely and with compassion
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, grooming, and preventive medicine.

- Cleaning of facility and work areas.

Qualifications:
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in performing X-rays and using radiology equipment
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment
- Strong animal handling skills, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and ability to perform basic tests
- Experience in pet care, including grooming, feeding, and administering medications
- Understanding of animal physiology and common veterinary medical conditions
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with veterinarians and other staff members.
