Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is Hiring a Site Scheduler Near Pineville, LA
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for production and inventory planning based on Business Demand Plan and Customer Orders. Serve customers by providing product and service information and by resolving product and service issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY:
Receives orders from customers (bottles and preforms) via fax, email, or by phone and enters the orders into system. Notifies customer (bottles and preforms) if orders cannot be fulfilled due to capacity constraints, raw material constraints, lack of lead-time, etc.
Take complaints from customer, and inform Quality Department
Serve as a liaison between Customers, Conversion, and Quality Department
Responsible for line scheduling based on Business Demand Plan, customer orders and forecasts
Formulates long term production plans for dedicated lines to plan and account for inventory building
Utilize SAP (PICS) for inventory verification and production planning
Optimize inventory levels while minimizing changeovers
Communicate with Finished Goods Manager and Logistics Manager to utilize minimal warehouse space and prepare for any inventory builds.
Coordinates outbound customer shipments with the Delivery Leader.
Review of site capacity regarding supply / demand problems and locate available capacity from back up site as directed by Product Supply.
Review raw material needs with raw material planner including replenishment/customer orders for pre-forms
Completes Work Orders
Responsible for maintaining ISO standards
Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.

REQUIRED TRAINING:

Must have flexibility of job assignments
Minimum of 2 year college degree and/or 3 to 5 years of related job experience
Strong computer skills

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for varying periods throughout the day in the Production area. Reaching above shoulder heights; and below the waist lifting as required to file documents or store materials during the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 lbs. for files, computer printouts on occasion. Could involve long periods of Computer work. 7 day a week operation; may require working more than 40 hours.
The performance of this position includes exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and Hearing Protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Required to be able to read documents and computer screens.
