Job Summary: The primary responsibilities of the General Machine operator are to operate a variety of machines in the production process. These machines can include the collator, laminator, punch machine, PMC, magnetic stripe roll-on, sorter machine, hole punch machine and offline coating machine. Responsibilities are primarily general machine operation, basic troubleshooting, and daily maintenance. This position will clean and prepare work area and machine for next workday or shift at the end of shift.
Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm (Overtime is mandatory; shift will continue 2 hours later till 1:30 am)

Prepare Machine for start of shift, which includes necessary materials and paperwork.
Perform duties necessary to operate machine and perform required tasks according to machine or position procedures.
Complete simple, routine maintenance on machine to keep machine operational.
Troubleshoot machinery for basic malfunctions and correct.
Complete all necessary paperwork required for machine operated on for the position.
Clean machines at the end of shift to prepare for next workday or next shift.
Clean and stock work area in preparation for next workday or shift.
Perform these and other duties as assigned by supervisor or other appropriate management personnel.
Work overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Basic math and reading skills
Ability to multitask
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Basic computer and mechanical abilities preferred
Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, and comprehend. The employee is required to stand for extended periods, walk and use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. The employee will be required to reach with hands and arms and must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Employee must be able to regularly push and pull loads using a pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors from one another.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in an indoor setting with variable temperature conditions. The employee will be working around moving equipment and machinery and will occasionally be required to use hazardous chemicals with appropriate, required personal protective equipment. The employee may be exposed to minimal chemical smells and paper dust. The employee must be prepared to respond to emergencies should they occur. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
