POSITION SUMMARY:

The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for scheduling surgeries for a busy 3 physician plastic and reconstructive surgery practice. Responsibilities include coordinating surgical procedures with multiple hospitals and surgery centers, obtaining authorizations for insurance covered procedures, confirming insurance, collect all surgery payments prior to procedures, scheduling and obtaining pre-operative testing, and collecting necessary documentation for surgeries. This individual works closely with patients, physicians and surgery location to provide accurate, timely and responsive paperwork.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

· College degree preferred.

· 3 years surgery scheduling or related experience.

· Strong knowledge of clinical/medical practice operations and terminology.

· Must be flexible, able to multi-task and work in a team environment

· Proficient in computers and relevant software applications, particularly Availity and other insurance company portals as well as practice management systems.

· Ability to be proactive and take initiative.

· Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills, problem solving skills and sound judgment.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently as well as accept direction on given assignments.

· Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.

· Must be Covid-19 vaccinated.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Prior plastic and reconstructive surgery experience in a private medical office.

Pay: $43,187.00 - $43,827.00 per year
