Job Title: Process Technician A – Hopkins
Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Reporting Relationships:
Direct Supervisor: Production Supervisor (Hopkins)
Responsibilities and Authorities:
As a Process Technician, you'll be at the forefront of our manufacturing operations, with responsibilities that include:
Setting up and initiating existing processes using Plasman's methodology, while applying critical thinking skills to resolve processing issues.
Qualifying molds, implementing mold revisions, and managing prototype molds through various tryouts until they are deemed production-ready.
Evaluating established molds and processes, recommending changes or revisions for potential production improvements, justifying changes, and collaborating with relevant support departments.
Developing and documenting all pertinent information related to qualification and the establishment of production processes. This includes specifications for molds, cycles, auxiliary equipment, part handling, packaging, and secondary operations.
Troubleshooting molding machine deficiencies, recommending probable changes or repairs, and working with appropriate support departments to implement these changes.
Applying PPAP and TS procedures to maintain quality standards.
Investigating customer complaints and product rejects, implementing and verifying corrective actions to ensure acceptable quality and profitability.
Evaluating new equipment as directed, keeping us at the forefront of technology.
Investigating and recommending new manufacturing techniques for process improvements, contributing to our continuous innovation.
Actively participating in pre-design, design review, and pre-production meetings to shape the future of our products.
Developing and conducting on-the-job training for manufacturing personnel as assigned, helping to build a skilled and knowledgeable team.
Applying all lean manufacturing principles to new and existing processes, including 5S, takt time, kanban, standard work, quick change set-up, and continuous improvements.
Performing other duties as assigned, ensuring that our team works together seamlessly.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
We take the health and safety of our team seriously. The Process Technician must comply with the Company's Health & Safety Program, including Occupational Health & Safety Legislation, regulations, standards, and Company Health & Safety policies.
Minimum Education and/or Designation Requirements:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
A High School diploma or GED
Technical training in injection molding
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
We're looking for candidates with:
Experience in thermoplastic injection molding set-up and processing
Minimum Training Requirements:
You should also have:
A thorough understanding of molding machine principles and functions.
Knowledge of plastic resins and their various processing differences.
Proficiency in troubleshooting molding processes and resin capabilities.
A basic understanding of mold design and function.
Familiarity with tooling fundamentals, process controllers, heat history of material flow (rheology).
Competency in using word processing and spreadsheet software.
Strong problem-solving skills.
