Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor

Pay: $14.00 p/h

Location: Crystal River, FL

Reports to: Executive Housekeeper

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Assist Housekeeping Manager to direct, supervise and maximize the efforts of the entire Housekeeping Department in order to ensure compliance with all standards of customer satisfaction, cleanliness, productivity and efficiency set by the Resort.

Supervisor Responsibilities

• Assist the Housekeeping Management team in training of all associates in the department.
• Assist Management team in a continuous and progressive general clean program for all guest units and areas of the property.
• Assists in the hiring, training, and career development of all housekeeping employees, assists with performance evaluations and communicating performance standards to employees.
• Assists in scheduling staff according to standards and forecasted occupancy; assigns daily work tasks to employees.
• Assist Management team in performing all administrative duties for the department including, but not limited to, budget control, scheduling, purchasing of supplies, hiring, performance appraisals, etc.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas of the property are clean according to Resort standards. This must include, but not limited to, guest rooms, public spaces, outdoor areas, offices, etc.
• Inspects the level of cleanliness in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms, and public areas.
• Assists in the ordering and receiving of linen and cleaning supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels necessary for efficient operation of the department; assists with monthly linen and supply inventory.
• Ensures the completion of the Housekeeper’s Report and communicates clean and available rooms to the Front Desk.
• Documents and communicates maintenance requests to the Engineering Department to ensure resort service quality standards are met.
• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Always displays a professional image through appearance and dress.
• Follows company policies and procedures and can effectively communicate them to entire team.
• Always use proper radio etiquette.
• Handle items for lost and found according to SOP.
• Report Engineering issues and deficiencies on respective platforms.
• Assist with unit cleaning as needed.
• Work with Housekeeping Leadership to ensure proper checklist and duties are met and surpassed.
• Ability to extract reports and document daily work performed.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, guests, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ensure department employees always wear proper designated uniforms and follow proper standards of appearance.
• Responsible for all MSDS records and labeling, sharp containers, and other OSHA requirements within department.
• Complete any additional duties assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
• At least 1 year of Housekeeping experience in a lead or in a hospitality and/or resort setting is required.
• Must have attention to detail, strong ability to multi-task, and time-management skills
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Position requires full flexibility in scheduling to work AM/PM, weekends & holidays. Overtime may be required for business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to complete repetitive motions throughout shift such as lifting bending, twisting, climbing, etc.
• Must be able to lift, push, carry, and pull at least 50lbs.
• Exposure to various types of Florida weather conditions including: sunshine, heat, and rain.
• May regularly be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic/caustic chemicals
