Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 Annually

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Community Education and Outreach Specialist will provide inclusive and medically accurate comprehensive health education and outreach in their community. The ideal candidate has experience navigating conversations around justice, health, and equity.

Eagerness to learn, grow and improve is a must-have trait for this role, as well as a desire to show up for the community, be an excellent ambassador of the Planned Parenthood brand, and serve as a subject-matter expert in the community and within PPSE.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Director of Education and Outreach to achieve communications, education and outreach goals. Provide health education programs in assigned region: Hattiesburg:
The Primary goal is to build education and outreach capacity in the Hattiesburg community and beyond in the state of Mississippi, providing health education, outreach services and collaboration as partnership opportunities are developed. Maintain education materials at Hattiesburg health center.
Cultivate relationships with community groups and affiliate partners. Maintain an excellent level of customer service. Adhere to communication standards. Follows all department guidelines to ensure high-quality education programs and products. Serve as an expert in the community as assigned. Work with the Public Policy department on outreach, health fairs, Generation Action needs, and other community activities.
Represent PPSE at health fairs and community events. Maintain data related to health education programs and community outreach for regular reports to grantors and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with the community education team to strengthen all programs. Other duties as required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience. Excellent communication skills. Ability and willingness to work independently.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Evening and weekend hours are required. Travel for programs and training is required. Functional technology skills. Reliable transportation.
