Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties has a full-time opportunity for a Surgical Health Center Manager in Orange, CA.
To support the Director of Operations in leading and directing a comprehensive service program and managing a multi-disciplinary staff to ensure high quality primary and reproductive health care services. This position will stay informed, involved and will help with the daily patient flow of the health centers while assisting in the oversight of all operations to comply with Organization policy and meet or exceed projected patient volume.

Qualifications:

Licensure and/or Certification Requirements:
  • CPR Certification a plus.
Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in healthcare-related major preferred.

Minimum Work Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in healthcare environment; patient care/clinical service environment, with minimum of 3 years’ management experience overseeing multiple levels of employees
Supervisory Experience:
  • Demonstrated ability as an effective leader including coaching and team-building skills.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Budgeting experience.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work without direct supervision.

  • Strong commitment to quality healthcare and excellent customer service is required.
  • Must thrive in a fast paced, rigorous environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Must demonstrate high level computer skills including; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Electronic medical records experience may also be required.
  • This position requires travel to other sites and locations; if using a personal vehicle to meet this requirement, a valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.
  • Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPOSBC locations and by all PPOSBC employees, and supporting these critical services is an essential job duty and fundamental responsibility of all employees.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: Essential functions encompass the required tasks, duties and responsibilities performed as part of the job and the reason the job exists.
  • Assist in onboarding new managers in the areas of personnel policies and procedures, medical procedures, statistical and record keeping requirements, inventory procedures, office and equipment maintenance, Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Illness & Injury Policies & Procedures, CLIA Guidelines, and emergency procedures, and on-going training/updates as required.
  • Support the health centers in regards to the fulfillment of goals (i.e. patient volume, wait times, customer service, etc.) through implementation of operational changes.
  • Participate in clinical/client/patient services management team meetings and interdepartmental meetings as assigned by Director of Operations
  • Maintain meeting minutes for Health Center Manager’s meeting, Surgical Services meeting, and any other meeting assigned by Director of Operations
  • Work cooperatively with the Health Center Management Team and Director of Operations to maintain maximum communication and support between health center staff, patients and administration.
  • Create and monitor Health Center Manager’s training calendars
  • Assure monthly and quarterly health center reports including one on ones, and all health center logs are submitted and filed to meet standards
  • Support in the implementation of new services, policies and protocols to be determined by the senior management team.
  • Working with the Health Center Managers, to ensure the proper facilitation of the Health Center patient flow and fill in as needed and assigned by the Director of Operations.
  • Support and create a culture of teamwork, open communication and conflict resolution.
  • Assure health center’s compliance with the Organization’s State and Federal Regulations by monitoring protocol compliance and service delivery
  • Available to travel throughout Orange and San Bernardino Health Centers
  • Provide complete oversight of the Scheduling Team
  • Provide Health Center Management coverage as needed.
  • Providing after hours support to the health centers (on rotation)
Non-Essential Functions:
  • Other duties as assigned.
