Summary
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships LA the Education Program Manager(LA) is responsible for facilitating, promoting and coordinating sexual health education and training services statewide in Louisiana for the affiliate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities
The position supervises and provides direction to education volunteers and interns. Carries out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. In partnership with Public Affairs the Health Education Manager LA is responsible for onboarding all education volunteers/interns; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining volunteers/interns; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Masters Degree preferably in Public Health, Education, Social Work or related field.
CHES certification is a plus and highly desired.
Minimum of two years of experience working in community health, preferably with youth in urban as well as rural and vulnerable communities. Teaching experience preferred.
Knowledgeable on operation of Excel, social media, Publisher, PowerPoint
Previous experience with group training and/or facilitating group meetings.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and marketing materials. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, in class room settings (virtually and in person) and small group situations to K-12 youth, teachers/educators, parents, customers, clients, volunteers/interns and other employees of the organization.
Ability to speak and write English.
Ability to respond to common inquiries from partners, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams. Comfortable using virtual platforms like Zoom and MS Teams.
