Plancorp is Hiring a Financial Wellness Advisor Lead Near St. Louis, MO

Plancorp is seeking a Financial Wellness Advisor Lead to join our growing team. This work-from-home position needs to be located in St. Louis, MO and will manage a team of remote workers.

Together with our strategic partner, BrightPlan, we help our clients’ enrolled employees improve all aspects of their financial lives through participation in a financial wellness program. By offering this important benefit to their employees, clients can raise productivity and lower absenteeism in their workforce.

First, the financial wellness program participants leverage technology to access relevant content and helpful tools. Next, when the participants are ready to get live, personalized assistance, they schedule a meeting with a Plancorp Financial Wellness Advisor (FWA), who can help them with the next step in their financial planning journey.

Position Overview:

Financial Wellness Advisors are key members of our team. They quickly assess a program participant’s financial situation and help them navigate to their destination. The financial wellness program participants are typically employees of a Fortune 1000 company.

This position will function as an FWA 60% of the time and will serve as team lead for other FWAs 40% of the time. The FWA role requires critical thinking skills and curiosity, plus the ability to work independently, remain flexible to changing priorities, and anticipate questions received during virtual meetings with participants.   • Coordinate any coverage or scheduling issues for the FWA team
  • Set goals, coach performance and conduct quarterly evaluations of the FWA team
  • Assist in the training of new team members
  • At a high level, speak to any financial concern the financial wellness program participant may have
  • Assess planning strategies relating to estate planning, retirement planning, tax planning, equity compensation and insurance
  • Respond appropriately to clients’ questions and requests
  • Identify need for elevation of participant questions to BrightPlan’s Director of Financial Planning and Advice
  • Build the participant’s trust in Plancorp by providing exemplary customer service
  • Articulate the benefits of becoming a Plancorp client to any participant with a more complex financial situation and assist a Wealth Manager in the proposal process if appropriate

What you bring:

  • Must have CFP® designation (passed exam AND can use marks)
  • B.A. or B.S. degree from accredited four-year university; Financial planning degree or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ relevant work experience
  • Previous supervisory experience, including holding people accountable
  • Commitment to acting in the clients’ best interests in a fee-only financial planning environment
  • Respect for the confidentiality of client and corporate information
  • Strong analytical skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • An understanding of the fundamentals of investing, including the characteristics and use of various investment securities, the mechanics of securities transactions, and the different types of investment accounts
  • Positive customer-focused attitude
  • Self-motivated to complete responsibilities with minimal supervision
