PLAINFIELD PARK DISTRICT is Hiring a Graphic Designer - Part Time Near Plainfield, IL
Responsible for assisting the Department of Marketing & Community Outreach in a variety of tasks including design, creation and delivery of a variety of print and digital marketing collateral that exhibit an effective and consistent brand message across all communications and marketing outlets.
This position is expected to work 15-18 hours per week.
Hourly starting rate is $26.92 per hour.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Create well-designed materials to promote the District's facilities, programs and events while following the District's brand style guide.
•Design print items such as flyers, brochures, posters, advertisements, banners and posters.
•Create forms, reports, business cards and invitations as needed.
•Maintain and update District signage (snapframes, kiosks)
•Assist with capturing and archiving photos and videos of the District's parks, events and activities.
•Assist in representing the District at expos, community outreach and other events.
•Maintain a flexible work schedule as required for District tasks.
•Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the District's safety program
•Perform any additional related tasks as required.
Requirements
•Associate's degree in graphic design, communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field, and/or two years of progressive experience.
•Skills in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat etc.), WordPress, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint are preferred but no required.
•Strong with content and proofreading all marketing materials.
•Other requirements include strong organization and planning skills, critical thinking and a high level of attention to detail, excellent time management and an ability to work independently, solve problems cooperatively and convey a positive attitude to others.
•Sound communications skills and ability to present ideas in a concise verbal and visual manner.
•Must have a valid driver's license.
