Our client, a non profit in Cranford, NJ, is seeking a Controller to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and maintining financial systems that reflect the company’s financial position. Provide periodic reporting to funders, company management and the Board of Trustees. - #LI-SF1

Essential Duties

• Preparation of annual company and program budgets and reporting to Budget Committee
• Oversee daily accounting functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable (including ACH) and general ledger maintenance
• Handle the company’s cash management process and investment accounts, including interfacing with external investment manager
• Preparation of monthly internal financial statements and analysis
• Key liaison with external auditors and presentation of results to the audit committee
• Allocation of internal expenses across various funding sources for compliance with reporting requirements
• Preparation of periodic grant reports
• Oversee payroll transactions with third party provider
• Approve wire transfers for loan clients
• Supervision of accounting department staff and participation in overall company management
• Manage the company’s insurance and employee benefits transactions

Qualifications

• S. in Accountng, Finance, or a related field
• Ten years experience in a financial management role
• Experience with nonprofit and fund accounting
• Expence with budget preparation
• Strong organizational, communication and writing skills
• Strong experience with Excel and accounting software (BlackBaud)
• Certified Public Accountant certification a plus
