Curriculum writers will work closely with the arts education leadership Team to develop curriculum and curate materials/references for Music and Visual Arts courses in various grade level bands K-12. The curriculum writing project will begin on June 20 and end by August 15, tentatively (dates are subject to change based on the number of applicants). Writers will be expected to work a maximum of ten hours per week.
- Art Grade K-5; 2 positions; 120 hours
- Art Grade 6-8; 2 positions; 60 hours
- Art Through Science; 1 position; 10 hours
- Ceramics 1-4; 2 positions; 40 hours
- Jewelry/Metals 1-4; 1 position; 40 hours
- Photography 1-4; 1 position; 40 hours
- Vis Comm Design 1-2; 1 position; 40 hours
- Visual Arts 1-4; 2 positions; 60 hours
- Band 1-5; 2 positions; 60 hours
- Beginning and Intermediate Band 6-8 and Band Grades 4 & 5; 2 positions; 60 hours
- Beginning and Intermediate Chorus 6-8 and Chorus HS; 2 positions; 60 hours
- Beginning and Intermediate Strings 6-8 and Instrumental Music Grades 4 & 5; 2 positions; 60 hours
- Orchestra 1-5; 2 positions; 40 hours
- Guitar 1-5; 1 position; 20 hours
- Keyboard/Piano 1-5; 1 position; 50 hours
- Music Grade K-5; 2 positions; 120 hours

Qualifications Pittsburgh Public Schools Teacher
Valid PA Department of Education Teaching Certification (Art, Music)
Previous curriculum writing experience preferred, but not required
Depth of understanding of the National Core Arts Standards

Essential Job Functions Work independently and in collaboration with the arts education leadership team and other writers when applicable.
Select content from adopted core instructional resources, identify additional supplemental instructional resources, and develop content such as learning activities, assessments, and projects.
Meet with the writing team at scheduled times on Microsoft Teams and in person.
Submit work on-time in accordance with established schedules and deadlines, revise work as needed, and develop work in alignment with guidelines, standards, and expectations set by the Arts Education Leadership Team.
