Summary: Under general direction of a principal, provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students. Provides supervision to students in a variety of school related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, develops, selects or modifies lesson plans to ensure all student needs are met, and maintains appropriate records and follows all policies and procedures of NCDPI and PCS. Provides quality standards-based instruction in the area of Business Education and Information Technology Education; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement.
Essential Duties
Plan, organize, and teach a competency-based CTE program in Agricultural Education curriculum.
Provides the bridge needed by all students to deal with major societal issues such as work-and-family, health care, child and elder care, family and community violence and crime, global economics and politics, and technology usage.
Demonstrate effective classroom and computer lab management
Assist in coordination of CTE Student Organization (National FFA Organization) activities for local, regional, state and/or national competition
Participates in field trips to post-secondary institutes, worksites, businesses and hands-on workshops
Assist in development of and participate in activities designed to promote an innovative business and technology program
Develop community and industry partnerships for students

Examples of Related Work Experience: animal health specialist, forester, horticulturist, nursery technician, extension agent, farm and ranch manager, veterinarian, conservation scientists, zoologists, wildlife biologist, previous teaching experience
