Pioneer Frozen Foods South Carolina is Hiring a Sanitation Technician - Weekend Shift 5am-5pm (Sat-Tues) Near Prosperity, SC

The Sanitation Tech is responsible for performing various tasks involved in the cleaning and sanitizing of the entire facility. Contributes to the expectations of sanitation including quality, working efficiently, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Pay: $20.96/hr *

$1.50/hr shift differential (hours worked between 6pm to 6am)

Shift Hours: 5am to 5pm Weekend Shift (Sat-Tues) 12 hour shift

*Must have flexibility, as hours may fluctuate depending on production needs

Requirements:

  • Must have 1-2 years sanitation experience (preferably in a manufacturing setting)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleans and sanitizes all production areas (Pre-scale, freezers, packaging area, etc.)
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work areas according to the Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Assist in equipment breakdown in preparation of sanitation, and assembly.
  • Scrapes, sweeps, and washes floors using high-pressure cleaning equipment.
  • Scours and sanitizes walls, floors, curtains, tables, equipment & conveyors.
  • Removes trash and other debris from the facility.
  • Cover equipment when not being used.
  • Clean office area, maintain clean carpets and floors.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms.
  • Evaluating hazards, verification of measures and procedures that should be taken to achieve a safe work environment.
  • Ensuring daily adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations
  • All other duties assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
  • Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.
  • Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse, and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling and twisting on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
  • Bump caps, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, lockout devices, fall protection and any other personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son will be provided.
  • Work involves frequent exposure to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, tedious, and exacting work, irregular work schedule and/ or overtime, noisy and/or distracting environment, working closely with others as part of a team, and on rare occasion’s emergency situations.
