As the Clinical Specialist for Pinnacle Inc., you’ll collaborate with the Medical Education Manager and Team to develop exceptional educational curriculums and execute regular educational trainings to continue to build the skills of top sales representatives. Your goal will be to help sales representatives grow in their career by instilling the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to go from an associate level representative to a specialist level, to the highest level of achievement, the consultant level. Your success in helping Pinnacle build a team of top technology consultants will help expand our surgeon’s knowledge base and skills, ultimately helping thousands of patients lead better lives.

DAY 1 IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO HAVE:

Subject matter expertise in the orthopedic medicine specialty – You must be familiar with human anatomy, be comfortable and know your way around an Operating Room, have knowledge of orthopedic surgical concepts and procedures, and have knowledge of various orthopedic medical conditions that require surgery.

Curriculum Design and Adult Learning Principles – Your main focus will be creating educational programming for sales representatives, so it is pertinent that you are familiar and have had success with designing educational curriculums as well as teaching those curriculums to adult learners.

A MAJORITY OF YOUR TIME WILL BE SPENT:

  • Constantly developing and advancing your knowledge and understanding of current and classic concepts in orthopedics, the Arthrex product line, and clinical procedures supported by Arthrex products.*
  • Articulating and demonstrating orthopedic surgical concepts and procedures to Pinnacle employees, business partner representatives, and healthcare professional customers.*
  • Teaching sales representatives general orthopedic and medical condition topics including current and classic concepts of patho-anatomy, biomechanics, and pathology classifications related to Arthrex products and procedures.*
  • Contributing your knowledge and experience to help build a state-of-the-art educational training program for our employees and customers.*
  • Partnering with the Laboratory Support Specialist and other Medical Education team members to organize and execute surgical skills workshops and single day labs.*
  • Meeting quarterly objectives/goals.*

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Observing and assessing sales representatives in the Operating Room during case coverage to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date when working with our surgeons.*
  • Working with the Medical Education Team to onboard new sales representatives, creating a curriculum specific to their specialty and needs.*
  • Ensuring new sales representatives meet their first year quarterly goals, as well as pass their tests to become commissionable employees after attending Initial Onsite Training at Arthrex Headquarters.*
  • Working closely with the Operations team to ensure compliance with Arthrex policies as well as all federal, state, and local laws regarding the sale of medical devices.*
  • Completing assigned Arthrex Global University modules on or before their due date.*

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the bio-medical sciences or related field; Graduate Degree is a plus.
  • 5 years of experience in orthopedic surgery, musculoskeletal medicine, or the orthopedic industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as a physician assistant, nurse practitioner, nurse, athletic trainer, physical/occupational therapist, or surgical technologist is required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and common internet browsers. Must be familiar with LMS platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in educating individuals and groups on orthopedic surgical concepts and procedures using a variety of different instruments and products, specifically Arthrex products is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to training courses when necessary.
