The Andrologist/Endocrinologist Laboratory Technician is an ideal opportunity for those seeking to be an integral part of a fertility patient’s journey towards becoming a parent. The Andrologist/Endocrinologist Laboratory Technician position at Pinnacle will allow you to engage with the patient throughout their journey while working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient care.

We are seeking an Andrologist/Endocrinologist Laboratory Technician to join our dedicated team at Reproductive Gynecology & Infertility in Akron, OH. This is a Full-Time position, working Monday-Thursday 6:00am-2:00pm (or 7:00am-3:00pm on weeks covering Endocrinology machine) and Fridays 6:00am-12:00pm (or 7:00am-1:00pm for endo coverage) with some weekend and holiday rotation. Some travel coverage to Independence, Canton, and Canfield locations will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all andrology services, including preparation of semen samples for artificial inseminations, cryopreservation and thawing of sperm, and sperm analysis in accordance with CLIA standards.
  • Provide patient instructions for specimen collection.
  • Perform comprehensive semen analysis, including sperm count, motility, progression, morphology, and viability (if indicated). Report results.
  • Perform laboratory quality control (QC), quality assessment (QA), and participates in quality improvement (QI) programs, record keeping and collection of data.
  • Support and actively participate in initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.
  • Follow all laboratory SOPs and OSHA guidelines including universal precautions for blood borne pathogens.
  • Comply with HIPAA privacy regulations.
  • Complete competency in latest technologies including, but not limited to: Semen analysis, sperm cryopreservation, vitality staining, semen processing.
  • Assist embryologists with preparatory work, patient/specimen ID witnessing, and record-keeping.
  • Assist lab director/supervisor with lab supplies inventory and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, and in keeping with Pinnacle Fertility and RGI policies, procedures, and standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology is required.
  • Must have maintained a “B” average or greater in relevant laboratory science.
  • Ability to learn to use compound microscopes, handle hazardous specimens, and manipulate sperm samples.
  • Ability to manage aseptic techniques.
  • Extensive computer literacy. Includes intermediate to advanced knowledge of all of the following: Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Understanding of the Internet and e-mail is necessary.
  • Must satisfactorily complete on-the-job training provided within the Introductory Period, unless granted an extension.
  • Must complete any certification examinations within an appropriate timeframe required by accrediting bodies.
  • Must supply copies of degrees, certifications, training and transcripts for personnel

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Compensation Range: $19.00-$21.00 (hourly)

The compensation range for this position is between $19.00 and $21.00 per hour. Final compensation offers will be determined based on factors such as years of experience, skills, and qualifications.
