Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispatcher/ Driver to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling transportation services to ensure timely delivery of goods. Your excellent communication skills and ability to multitask will be crucial in this role. As a driver, you will be responsible for making deliveries around the Houston area. You will also assist in the warehouse helping with receiving, picking, and shipping.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process customer orders for transportation services
- Coordinate with drivers and other personnel to schedule pick-up and delivery times
- Monitor and track the progress of shipments using transportation management systems
- Communicate with customers to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any issues or concerns
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including data entry into various systems
- Collaborate with the fleet management team to optimize routes and maximize efficiency
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving problems in a timely manner
- Driving a 26’ box truck, using a lift gate, and pallet jack
Skills:
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) such as Key Software’s Xcelerator
- Knowledge of fleet management principles and practices
- Familiarity with freight operations and logistics processes
- Ability to use GIS (Geographic Information System) software for route planning and optimization
- Typing proficiency to ensure efficient data entry
- Knowledge of driving a box truck.
