PING is Hiring a DFA Staff Process Engineer Near Phoenix, AZ

PING, Inc., maker of PING golf equipment, is seeking a DFA Staff Process Engineer that will develop, install, optimize, and maintain cost effective methods of manufacturing while working with, and supporting, the production team to effectively make process improvements. Lead Design for Assembly Capability strategy, coordination, and implementation across engineering and manufacturing teams. Lead Assembly Release achievement for new product introduction. Meet product quality and safety requirements. This position requires the candidate to reside in the Phoenix Metro Area, relocation assistance will be provided.

YOU WILL:

  • Demonstrate sound understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles with an ability to root cause. Eg: Process times, process mapping, value stream maps, flowcharts, 5S, 8 Wastes, Fishbone diagrams, process capability.
  • Ensure process improvement through layout, flow and logistics, equipment design and implementation, documentation, and procedures. Achieve cost effective quality control and material usage.
  • Evaluate new product designs for manufacturing risks and address these risks prior to launch
  • Lead Assembly Release phase of new product lines to ensure manufacturing readiness supported by testing and sufficient data.
  • Analyze data using appropriate statistical analysis, accurately interprete results and clearly document/present the data in graphical or similar format
  • Liaise between engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and management regarding assembly of new product
  • Maintain schedules and timely completion of Design for Assembly capability, Assembly Release, and production ramp up activities
  • Determine potential cycle time and production capacity impact due to upcoming product and minimize negative impacts using Arena simulation software or similar
  • Assign action items and oversee necessary changes to successfully produce new product including modifications to equipment, floor layout, logistics, work procedures, etc.
  • Provide feedback to and work closely with design and project engineering teams to design in solutions to assembly issues
  • Collaborate with Quality on process monitors, gauges, Critical to Quality items, and other criteria for ensuring product meets PING quality standards. 
  • Summarize and feedback learnings from current/previous products to appropriate groups to drive improvements in future product
  • Provide technical support to the production floor for issues with productivity, quality, cost, and safety
  • Establish training programs with feedback and insight from Production.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to production floor in the areas of machine malfunction, evaluation, machine problem solving.
  • Maintain technical proficiency in the field
  • Occasional national and international travel will be required

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or similar field from a properly accredited college or university, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of previous engineering work experience is preferred.
  • Should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and team skills with the ability to gain consensus.
  • Proven ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work independently with some technical guidance.
  • Strong time management and recordkeeping skills.
  • Possess a high level of computer literacy: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS SharePoint.
  • Must be able to read and understand blue prints.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of drafting principles.
  • Must understand the principles of CFM (continuous flow manufacturing).
  • Knowledge about golf and golf equipment is a plus.
