What will you do as a PMC Nurse (LPN)
As a PMC Nurse (LPN), you will provide skilled nursing services to patients under the direction of a professional medical doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant, and provide a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Including collecting patient health data, analyzing the data to determine diagnoses, identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient, develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain the expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, and evaluate the patient's progress toward attainment of the outcomes, working collaboratively with the healthcare team. A day in the life of a PMC Nurse (LPN) may include:
  • Works within scope of license, develop and implement nursing plan of care for patients. Communicate the plan of care to patients as prescribed by physician: test results, scheduling of specialized tests and treatment modalities, prescription drug instructions and other patient education including procedures and/or disease processes.
  • Gathers patient information for vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergies, etc.
  • Reviews patient records, assuring they are complete with regard to previously ordered studies such as laboratory reports, x-ray reports, electrocardiogram reports, etc.
  • Obtains, reviews, verifies and/or complete health care forms related to home health care, referrals, medical equipment and other patient/physician needs as appropriate. .
  • Help maintain patient flow and workflow. Work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patients and clinic.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines; promotes and supports research activities; and utilizes available resources to provide and improve patient care.
  • Observes patients and reports changes in patients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and takes any necessary action.
  • Measures and records patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
  • Assists physicians with examination and procedures as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • BLS/CPR certification required. ACLS/PALS is required in specialty areas as determined by accrediting bodies (Cardiology, Infusion, Rheumatology Infusion, CT & GI Endo)
Experience:
  • Two years' experience as a Nurse in a clinical/ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Experience working with an EMR system preferred
Shift: Day Shift (Monday through Friday) no weekends or holidays
Pay Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
