The Market is looking for a full time staff member to assist in the daily operations of the Grocery Department.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Report to and be guided by the Grocery Manager in training, inventory control, buying and merchandising plans including the store’s profitability
• Demonstrate creativity in promoting sales, merchandising and/or marketing
• Provide excellent customer service
• Control spoilage, sampling and food rotation
• Maintain proper product assortment, merchandising and inventory controls in department
• Have strong demonstrated product knowledge of grocery product

• Have ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Perform additional tasks as required by Management

Physical requirement of the position:

• Stand for extended periods of time
• Work in temperature controlled environment
• Bend and lift up to 50 pounds; push or pull carts up to 150 pounds
• Frequent bending, twisting, reaching above shoulders
• Ability to handle sharp implements (box cutters)
• Able to effectively communicate verbally and written

Minimum of 2 years grocery store experience preferred.
