The Finance Associate will manage all of Pinecrest School's finances. They will be a member of the school's administrative team and can work in a hybrid role between home and school if that is preferred.

Pinecrest School is an award-winning, independent school located inside the Beltway in Annandale, serving children ages 3 through sixth grade and offering summer camp. Pinecrest nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. Pinecrest’s approach to education encourages students to explore their interests and develop their problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain complete financial records
• Pay all bills and reimbursements as appropriate
• Prepare annual/monthly tuition invoices and collect payments and late fees for all the school's needs.
• Administer faculty/staff payroll, including state and federal withholding taxes.

Prepare quarterly reports for the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Internal Revenue Service

• Prepare documents for the accountant necessary for the filing of state and federal

income taxes and completion of the annual audit

• Prepare end-of-fiscal-year financial records for the accountant
• Procure facility, health, and worker’s compensation insurance
• Manage the school’s benefits program for eligible teachers and staff
• Prepare the draft of the annual budget, in consultation with the Head of School, for approval by the Board of Directors
• Prepare and execute all invoices and payments for Summer Camp
• Works closely with the Treasurer of the Board of Directors and prepares reports for distribution to the Board of Directors
• Work with the Admin Team
• Communicates as needed with vendors
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the children and their families
• Promote warmth, kindness, and sincerity in all interactions with children, parents, faculty, staff, administration, visitors, and the general public

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Master's degree (preferred)
• Experience in public or private accounting - preferably independent Schools
• Proficiency in financial management and reporting
• Demonstrates integrity, positivity, confidence, and flexibility, with a strong work ethic
• Notable interpersonal skills and a willingness to take on additional administrative duties
• A strength with critical thinking and attention to detail is a must
