**Overview:**

We are seeking a passionate Secondary (6-12) Electives Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year and inspire students in their educational journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development, classroom management, and experience working with students. **Duties:**

- Oversight of both Middle and High School Student Council programs. Each group has it's own period of instruction daily.

- Theater elective (one period)

- Reading Intervention electives (multiple periods)

- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum

- Provide instruction in various subjects, including but not limited to creative writing, physical education, and learning technology

- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and academic growth

- Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and projects

- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience for students

- Mentor and guide students in their academic and personal development

**Experience:**

The successful candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

- Proven experience working with high school students

- Strong classroom management skills

- Ability to develop and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners

- Proficiency in proofreading and providing constructive feedback on student work

- Experience in mentoring students to help them achieve their academic goals

- Knowledge of learning technology tools to enhance teaching practices
