What Will You Do?

As a Psychiatric Technician Level 1 at Pine Rest, you’llbe part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertiseand compassion. Under general supervision and according todepartmental policies and procedures and within the individual plan of careperforms the role of physical and emotional care given to clients with mentalillness and/or developmental delays. Isresponsible to actively participate in safety management, milieu management,crisis intervention and prevention.

Each day,we are closing the gaps in access to care. We are innovating throughleading-edge research, testing, programs, and treatment modalities that othersreplicate across the country. Our services include a state-of-the-artpsychiatric urgent care center and a soon-to-be-built pediatric behavioralhealth center, outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization (day programs),assessment and testing, residential, addiction treatment and specialty servicessuch as crisis response, employee assistance programs, forensic psychiatry andpsychology, and neuromodulation. Our on-the-job educational programs fornurses, psychologists, advanced practice providers, psychiatrists and chaplainsare equipping the next generation of care providers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providesa safe and secure environment for persons served and staff in both individualand group settings.
  • Collaboratesin day-to-day planning/development of person served programming andimplementation of programs.
  • Mayassist persons served with personal care. This can include bathing, shaving,washing hands, styling hair, using the bathroom, dressing, etc.)
  • Actively participate in safety management, crisis interventionand prevention. This also may include monitoring, assessment, de-escalation,implementation of restrictive measures, and emergency psychiatric and medicalcare.
  • Survey, document, and report and all safety repair andmaintenance needs.
  • Mayperform household duties such as cleaning, cooking and laundry. Drives andescorts persons served to community outings and to appointments.
  • Documentsall progress notes, medication administration, and any other relevantinformation, reporting any immediate concerns according to departmentalpolicies and procedures.
  • Responsibleto monitor for and report to the designated staff any potential risk toperson’s served safety that could lead to an adverse outcome.
  • Maybe responsible for both random and scheduled drug testing and conductingsearches of persons served and their belongings.
  • Completesreports and paperwork as needed. 
  • Assistsin the teaching of persons served/family. This may include social skills, dailyliving skills, and behavioral and coping techniques.
  • Responsibleto role model the mission and values of the organization through appropriatesocial behavior and problem solving. Provides spiritual, emotional, social,mental, and physical support to persons served.
  • Maylearn and help to accomplish treatment plans and goals of persons served.
  • Mayperform basic office duties including but not limited to answering phones, filing,scanning and uploading, using Microsoft Word, etc.
  • Assist in training new staff.
  • May be responsible to support and promote arecovery focused environment and person-centered approach within the program.
  • If working in Hospital and Residential services, responsibleto role model the mission and values of the organization, presenting aprofessional image that is projected in appearance, attitudes and behaviors,time management and communication skills. Provides spiritual, emotional,social, mental and physical support to persons served.
  • Responsible of obtaining the necessity ofknowledge of medications required by their position.

What Does the Role Require?

Education/Experience:

  • Completionof a minimum of six months post high school education in behavioral sciences orequivalent is preferred.
  • CNAcertification or one to two years of college education is preferred.

•This position is onsite and may require both weekend and holiday hours.
