Job Overview:
As an Instructional Aide, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide essential support in educational settings. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting teachers in implementing instructional activities, providing individualized attention to students, and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. The educational settings will range from 1:1 support for a single student to general support for a classroom. This role is pivotal in facilitating the academic, social, and emotional development of students, particularly those with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities:
Support Classroom Instruction:
-Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and resources.
-Facilitate small group or individual instruction under the direction of the teacher.
-Reinforce learning concepts through guided practice and activities.
Student Assistance:
-Ability to Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
-Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs or learning difficulties.
-Assist students in understanding and completing assignments.
-Offer encouragement and positive reinforcement to promote student engagement and motivation.
Behavioral Support:
-Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher or BCBA.
-Help implement educational programs and IEP goals.
-Monitor student behavior and intervene as necessary to maintain a productive learning environment.
-Foster positive social interactions among students.
Collaboration:
-Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to address the diverse needs of students.
-Participate in team meetings and provide input on student progress and strategies for improvement.
Administrative Tasks:
-Assist with clerical tasks such as record-keeping, grading, and organizing instructional materials.
-Prepare and maintain classroom displays and bulletin boards.
-Help with the supervision of students during transitions, lunch, and other non-instructional times.
