If you enjoy working with the elderly and making them, feel pampered, then this is the position for you. You will have the flexibility to set your own hours, but generally work about 8 hours a week unless extra time is needed.

Primary Purpose:

Provide Salon service to our residents at Pine Haven Community.

General Description:

Beautician performs shampoos, sets, perms, haircuts, colors and other salon services requested by our residents.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Beautician or similar role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Certificate in MN Board licensed cosmetologist – required to have a salon manager license.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and schedule appointments for residents.
• Provide a variety of services to residents including wash, set, and relaxers.
• Cut and trim women's and men's hair and beards.
• Style hair consistent with resident’s request.
• Promote a friendly and positive atmosphere in the delivery of services.

Other Duties:

• Accepts assignments in a positive manner designated by the management team, which may

include participating in QA/QI projects, increases clinical skill competencies, in anticipation of

proposed population changes.

• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures. Responds appropriately to fire, tornado, and

disaster alerts and drills. Follows facility and department safety environmental and infection

control standards.

• Attends mandatory in-services as required. Attends all other inservices as requested by

department manager or Administrator.

• Is approachable, knowledgeable and friendly to all customers, including residents, family

members, representatives, co-workers and others.

• Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and qualifications:

Education:

MN Board licensed cosmetologist

MN Board licensed Salon Manager

Experience: 3 year(s) required in cosmetology.

Schedule:

• Choose your own hours- Flexible working hours 1-2 days a week

Salary: $18.00-$25.00/hour
