Purpose
A Learning Network Tutor is responsible for working with students in different content-based academic
areas. Tutors will be hired on a consultant basis. Once assigned a student, the tutor will reach out to the
student’s parent, teacher(s), and the student (if appropriate). The tutor will coordinate a mutually agreeable
time and duration to meet for weekly sessions. The tutor will collaborate with the student’s teacher to
determine what area(s) need support. The tutor will provide feedback to the student’s parents and teachers
upon request.
Supports the School’s mission statement and the philosophy of the department and adheres to School
policies and procedures, including but not limited to what is outlined in the Employee Handbook
Works collaboratively with faculty and staff, as well as the student's parents
Works collaboratively with the Learning Network, if appropriate
Participates in professional development offered by the Learning Network
Participates in training if needed for their certification
Participates in School wide compliance trainings, as requested or required
Assists with the planning and delivery of workshops and informational sessions
Participates in parent conferences, when requested and appropriate, and provides instructional
suggestions as needed
Stays informed of current trends and issues of assigned area and best practice
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Supervisor or their designee
Education Bachelor’s degree required
Experience and Qualifications Previous tutoring experience
