Pine Creek Care Center is Hiring a Laundry / Housekeeping Supervisor Near Roseville, CA

POSITION

The Laundry/Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the Laundry and Housekeeping Departments and will insure that laundry and housekeeping personnel follow correct procedures for cleaning, processing and storing of linens and personal clothing, and maintain the physical environment and furnishings of the facility in a clean and sanitary condition.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year experience as supervisor of the laundry or housekeeping service for a long term care facility or hospital OR 1 year experience as a laundry aide or housekeeper in an institutional setting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Laundry Department
    • Direct and supervise all aspects of the laundry service for the facility
    • Interview and hire Laundry Aides under the direction of the Maintenance Director. Provide orientation and training to new employees
    • Develop, write and post laundry room work and duty schedules
    • Routinely supervise Laundry Aides to insure correct procedures and schedules are followed
    • Provide instruction, supervision, counseling and written evaluations to Laundry Aides
    • Assist with sorting, washing, drying, folding, delivery, storage of linen and cleaning of department
    • Follow and direct correct processing of isolation linen
    • Ensure correct processing of personal clothes including prevention of loss. Assist in locating missing item(s)
    • Perform monthly linen inventory wit report to the Maintenance Director of linen removed from the inventory due to wear and the replacement linen needs
    • Perform periodic full linen counts to insure three (3) changes of bed linen are available with report the Maintenance Director
    • Ensure orderly, secure storage of supplies, cleaning chemicals and work area
    • Maintain required Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
    • Practice and insure compliance of infection control policies and procedures of the department and facility
    • Practice and insure compliance of safety procedures of the department and facility
    • React appropriately to emergencies and disaster situations
    • Promptly notify the Maintenance Director of any needed repairs
    • Be courteous, considerate and cooperative when communicating with all facility personnel, residents and public
    • Attend in-service education and group meetings as required
    • Attend Infection Control, Quality Assurance, Safety Committee and other committee meetings as required
  • Housekeeping Department
    • Direct and supervise all aspects of the housekeeping service for the facility
    • Interview and hire Housekeepers under the direction of the Maintenance Director. Provide orientation and training to new employees
    • Develop, write and post work and duty schedules for housekeeping staff
    • Daily basis inspect the entire premises for necessary cleaning and assign personnel appropriately
    • Assist with cleaning in accordance with schedule
    • Routinely supervise housekeeping staff to insure correct procedures and schedules are followed
    • Provide instruction, supervision, counseling and written evaluations to housekeeping staff
    • Conduct in-service training classes for housekeeping staff on techniques for cleaning, disinfection, sanitation, handling of cleaning chemicals and other related subjects
    • Contact vendors and arrange for delivery of housekeeping supplies. Control cost within the budget and maintain records of all supplies purchased
    • Ensure orderly, secure storage of supplies, chemicals and work area
    • Maintain required Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
    • Promptly notify Maintenance Director of any needed repairs to the building or equipment
    • Ensure that required personal protective equipment is available to staff members
    • Practice and insure compliance of infection control policies and procedures of the department and facility
    • Practice and insure compliance of safety procedures of the department and facility
    • React appropriately to emergencies and disaster situations
    • Participate in Quality Assurance programs
    • Be courteous, considerate and cooperative when communicating with all facility personnel, residents and public
    • Attend in-service education and staff meetings as required
    • Attend and participates in facility committee meetings as required
