Pine Canyon Club is Hiring an Assistant Racquets Instructor Near Flagstaff, AZ

Essential Function:

The Racket Instructor Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the smooth functioning of racket sports activities. This includes providing essential assistance to players by managing equipment preparation and aiding in practice sessions. The maintenance of playing areas, ensuring well-kept courts, and organized playing spaces also falls under their responsibility. Equipment management involves ensuring gear is in optimal condition, and helping players choose suitable equipment. The assistant contributes to the coordination of events such as tournaments and matches, and provides valuable support to coaching staff during training sessions. Effective communication, both with players and staff, is crucial, as is maintaining a focus on safety protocols and offering basic first aid when necessary. Additionally, a racket sports assistant delivers excellent customer service, aids in skill development activities, and ensures accurate record-keeping for equipment and schedules. Their role is integral to fostering a positive and efficient environment for all involved in racket sports.

Responsibilities:

  • Be punctual, organized, and participate enthusiastically in pickleball and tennis programming with both junior and adult participants.
  • Maintain Court and Racket facilities up to Pine Canyon’s 5 star standards.
  • Act as a positive representative for Pine Canyon’s Racket department, offering assistance and guidance to members, guests, and other employees.
  • Help effectively coordinate with other club departments to assist Racket Department’s programming and facility needs.
  • Has a desire to work with children in a coaching setting.
  • Maintain consistent work schedule through every week starting May 28th and running through August 4th. (Additional weeks and hours will be requested outside of that timeframe as well.)

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is skilled in either tennis or pickleball, or both. Exhibits characteristics of leadership, enthusiasm, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, great social skills, integrity and a positive attitude.

  • Extensive experience playing either tennis or pickleball, and ideally both.
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience as an instructor or coach in a skill.
  • Has the desire and ability to work with children in an indoor and outdoor setting.
  • Proven leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision from leadership
  • Ability to interact with members easily and exuberantly
  • The ability to work for extensive periods of time outdoors while maintaining elite standards of patience, enthusiasm, customer service, and communication.
  • Instructional background in a sport is also recommended.
