Plans, organizes, supervises, and occasionally participates in the work of custodial workers
engaged in cleaning of buildings, offices facilities, and surrounding areas;
Trains and instructs custodial workers in proper methods and procedures of custodial work and infection control techniques;
Inspects completed work to determine conformance to accepted standards;
Supervises and participates in loading, unloading, and moving supplies, equipment, and furniture;
Orders and maintains an inventory of various custodial equipment and supplies;
Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports;
Prepares cleaning and disinfectant solutions and assures proper disposal;
May perform more difficult maintenance tasks;
May inspect equipment to determine needs for new parts, repairs, overhaul, and replacement;
May distribute and collect keys and or pagers.

Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application.ValidAZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services' review and approval of the candidate's driving record. Some positions in this classification may require an Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) regular Clearance Card at the time of appointment. Failure to obtain/maintain the required clearance/licensure shall be grounds for termination.
Special Notice Items: The ability to obtain a jail pass is required. The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County. Department of Labor Regulation CFR Part 1910.1030 requires notification that some positions in this category may have a moderate risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens. In accordance with OSHA and Pima County guidelines and regulations, Hepatitis B vaccine, tuberculosis screening and respiratory protection training, safety equipment, and personal protective clothing will be provided.
