Hiring Range: $66,536 - $79,843 Annually
Full Range: $66,536 - $93,150 Annually
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.

The Assessor Market Research Manager provides high-level administrative support by conducting market research, preparing quarterly and annual market reports, and handling information requests, and other duties as assigned in support of the County Assessor.
Candidates will be given a property type and be required to submit a market report on that property type at the time of the interview. 
This classification is in the unclassified service and is exempt from the Pima County Merit System Rules.

  • Conducts market research, compiles data, and prepares reports to provide a clear and insightful analysis of the residential and commercial real estate markets in Pima County;
  • Works closely with Business Services, Real Property, Business Personal Property, and Computer-Aided Mass Appraisal (CAMA) Divisions to gather data for specific research projects;
  • Assists with developing close connections with the commercial real estate community to track market metrics for industrial, retail, office, and multifamily specialties across Pima County;
  • Uses property data, from both internal and external sources, to forecast sales trends and produce insightful research outputs, written analysis, and market publications;
  • Compiles statistical data by translating and converting data to graphs/tables/charts;
  • Organizes the preparation and production of customized, client-specific property information packages in response to Requests for Information (RFIs);
  • Works closely with CAMA to assist with sales validations;
  • Assists in the creation of department forms, training materials, and client reports;
  • Performs general clerical duties such as maintaining records, managing database systems, and updating master spreadsheets/logs;
  • Performs other duties/special projects as assigned or requested by the County Assessor.
(1) 60 semester hours of coursework from an accredited college, university, or technical trade school in regional development, real estate, business administration, urban planning, property appraisal, or a closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND two (2) years of experience in real estate and/or market research in a professional office environment.
(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
(Acceptable real estate experience is that which includes establishing property value through research of sales of comparable properties and acceptable construction experience includes estimating, obtaining building permits and/or reading blueprints.)
OR:
(2) Two years of experience with the Pima County Assessor’s Office as a Property Appraiser II or higher-level classification.

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):

  1. Minimum two (2) years of experience in data analytics in a professional office environment.
  2. Minimum two (2) years of experience researching economic factors that contribute to the state of commercial and residential real estate markets.
  3. Minimum two (2) years of experience working with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, or similar programs. 
Selection Procedure:

Licenses and CertificatesValid driver license is required at time of applicationValid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination.
