Pima Community College is Hiring a Coordinator - Single Parent Pathways to Success Near Tucson, AZ

The Workforce Development and Innovation Program Coordinator is responsible for the management and oversight, including budgets and implementing strategic and programmatic plans for the Single Parent Pathways for Success grant. This includes managing timelines, schedules, and outcomes while working collaboratively with Pima Community College (PCC) departments to ensure support and proper grant implementation. This position will use effective strategies to develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, community partners, and PCC learners. This position is grant funded for one year with the potential for continuation upon successful grant performance, and is part of the Workforce Development and Innovation area. The grant is currently in month 5 of the 12 month cycle.

The Single Parent Pathways for Success grant is funded by the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family. This grant will provide for family-centered coaching and trauma-informed practice to help single parents with dependent children to identify and address potential barriers to their academic successes and their transition to employment. Single Parent Pathways to Success support services will increase single parent learner enrollment and success in training in fields that are in high demand locally and that lead to family-sustaining career pathways. This grant will provide for training in trauma-informed practice and family-centered coaching as well as case management for learners throughout their career training program and beyond. Pima Community College will partner with community-based organizations to ensure the capacity to serve both single mothers and single fathers.

The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.

This is a grant-funded position, and will end September 30, 2024. Continuation of employment is contingent upon renewed funding.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Workforce Development and Innovation Director to develop, implement, evaluate, and sustain programming
  • Participate in the development of the program budget and supervise the monitoring and administration of grant funds
  • Develop and implement programs and best practices that drive student success, diversity, and excellence
  • Prepare and present fiscal and programmatic reports. Analyze data and grant activity
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal partners and external partners including but not limited to workforce leadership, student services, grants services, and community partners
  • Conduct data collection and prepare reports
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and measure/report on program success
  • Conduct meetings to resolve problems, address issues, discuss grant goals and objectives, and disseminate information
  • Coordinate the process of resource allocation for participants
  • Present information to large groups, in person, and through distance technology
  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
  • Ability to work varied schedules that may require evenings, weekends, multiple locations

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and
  • Two years of related professional-level experience

or

  • Candidates with similar minimum objective qualifications are encouraged to apply and should describe in detail the work experience and education regarded as establishing the equivalency

Preferred:

  • Four years of professional-level project and/or grant leadership experience

  • Best practices for supporting underrepresented communities
  • Ability to foster and maintain cooperative working relationships with groups within a diverse, multicultural, academic, and workforce environment. Work positively and effectively as a contributing member of a team
  • Demonstrate curiosity and humility in seeking to understand and empathize with diverse populations in an effort to encourage and design programming and services that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Interpret and apply state and federal regulations
  • Budget development and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships and collaborative internal and external partnerships
  • Public relations and marketing/outreach techniques (virtual and in-person)
  • Project management including objectives, schedules, funding, implementation, status reports, and communication plan
  • Technology skills including use of applicable software and multiple database platforms and Google Suite software including database and presentation applications
  • Continuous quality improvement model including data management and analysis and effective report generation
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to a changing environment
