Pilot School is Hiring a Summer Camp Reading Teacher - Wilson Certified Reading Specialist Near Wilmington, DE

Job Summary

Teachers are the primary conduit through which the mission of the school is brought to fruition. Integral to the success of The Pilot School, teachers work directly with students in their classrooms, instructing them, guiding the development of skills and strategies, and supporting the growth of the full child. Our team of Wilson-certified teachers are responsible for the vital work of teaching our students to read. They work on a collaborative team of other Wilson teachers, closely monitoring student progress and delivering instruction with fidelity and care.

Summer Camp role runs:

6/17-6/21, 6/24-6/28, 7/8-7/12, 7/15-7/19 & 7/22-7/26 = 5 weeks - Mon-Friday 7:45am-11:30am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and carry out the school’s mission and culture
  • Provide exemplary instruction that follows the Wilson Reading System curriculum with fidelity and care
  • Stay current and invested in best practices for students who learn differently
  • Nurture a culture of learning in a classroom environment of respect and rapport
  • Organize and maintain accurate and effective records of learning
  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to student needs and the needs of the school
  • Maintain active supervision in order to ensure a safe and healthy school environment
  • Communicate effectively with families and colleagues
  • Collaborate openly and positively with colleagues
  • Actively participate in the professional community
  • Demonstrate lifelong learning
  • Demonstrate professionalism in attitude, attendance, behavior, and work habits

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, graduate degree preferred
  • WILSON Level 1 certification required
  • Three years of teaching experience required, special education experience preferred
  • Teaching certification preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and actively contribute to a positive work culture

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

  • Wilson Reading Level 1 certification? (Required)
