Pillar4 Media is seeking a Back End Engineer to join its fast-growing team.

As a member of the Engineering team, you’ll work closely with senior leadership and other team members to develop and maintain Pillar4’s data architecture.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Senior Software Engineer - Tech Lead, the Back End Engineer will:

• Design, implement, and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources, transform it for analysis, and load it into our databases
• Build scalable and reliable backend systems for data aggregation, manipulation, and processing
• Manage and maintain data pipelines to ensure uninterrupted flow of data, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
• Develop and maintain APIs for data retrieval and manipulation
• Leverage your strong SQL skills to query and manipulate data within relational databases.
• Collaborate with other developers, data analysts, and project managers to meet project goals and deadlines

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or one to two years of work experience in back end development
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with data aggregation, manipulation, and processing
• Experience with API development and management
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Desire for a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with competing priorities and deadlines
• Competitive drive and a hunger to learn

Bonus skills (Not required):

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud)
• Previous work with affiliate marketing accounts and APIs
• Experience with data aggregation, manipulation, and processing
• Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., R Studio)
• Experience with a web stack (e.g., React, Rails )
