Pillar Innovations is Hiring an Industrial Electrician Near Charleston, WV

Overview

Industrial Electrician – Charleston, WV

Pillar Innovations is now accepting applications for a full-time Industrial Electrician. The Industrial Electrician will install, maintain, and repair various electrical components and applications ranging from low to high voltage in a wide array of industries that may include, but not be limited to: Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Plants, Coal, Wind Energy, etc.

This position will require a flexible schedule with travel and out-of-town work. Candidates must be willing to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays and evenings. Areas of operations include, but are not limited to: Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Washington DC Metro Area, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and New Jersey.

The Industrial Electrician will work out of the Pillar Innovations Shop located in Charleston, WV.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial facilities, which could include but not be limited to wiring, conduit, fixtures, and electrical devices
  • Install and test new equipment and systems
  • Repair and maintain existing systems and equipment
  • Read and follow electrical code, manuals, wiring and circuitry diagrams, blueprints, schematics and other electrical specifications
  • Trouble-shoot, diagnosis, and repair electrical issues, systems and components independently with minimal direction and supervision
  • Repair and install large electrical equipment, industrial fans, large motors, generators, control systems, grounding systems, etc.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment
  • Provide detailed paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory
  • Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner
  • Assist in other areas of the company and perform other duties as assigned
  • Trouble-shoot, diagnosis and repair electrical issues

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • 2 years of industrial/commercial electrical experience working in Industrial Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Plants, Coal Industry, Wind Energy, etc.
  • Electrical Journeyman License preferred but not required – will consider Electrical Apprentice License and MSHA Electrical Certification
  • Possess the knowledge and experience to perform installs and repairs to low, medium and high voltage systems and components
  • Must possess knowledge of materials, methods, equipment and tools involved in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems and components
  • Must possess the ability to utilize a wide array of tools and diagnostic devices to effectively trouble-shoot; identify root cause; and take corrective action
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, circuitry and schematics
  • Repair, install and maintain 3-phase power, high voltage apparatus and electrical and electronic components and equipment
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes travel, out-of-town work, weekends, extended hours and call-out work
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to represent Pillar Innovations in a professional, competent and courteous manner
  • Must be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude
  • Must be able to work well with co-workers and customers

  • Able and willing to work outdoors in severe weather
  • Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
  • Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal boots, protective eye wear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection
