Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a File Clerk. As a File Clerk, you will be responsible for opening, maintaining and organizing physical and electronic files, ensuring efficient retrieval and storage of off-site documents/files. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth and development within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Opening and closing new matters electronically for both office locations; open physical files for Latham office
- Scan and digitize paper documents into electronic format
- Maintain accurate records of file locations and updates
- Retrieve requested files and documents in a timely manner
- Assist with data entry tasks, including updating customer information
- Provide back-up to the receptionist
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong computer literacy skills using Microsoft Office Suite; experience using Clio legal management software a plus, but not required
- Previous experience working in a law firm environment is preferred but not required
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to provide support to clients or customers when needed
