Pierre’s is a private dog club, which means we work with the same dogs on a regular basis. We have 3 dog groups (large, medium and small). Each group has an indoor playroom and a yard they have access to at all times with via doggy door.

Pet Care Technicians are responsible for overseeing the group they’re assigned to and ensuring all dogs are safe and comfortable at all times. This requires them to be on their feet and walking around constantly. In addition, because we offer indoor and outdoor areas for the dogs, Pet Techs are required to spend part of the time outside and in the natural elements (cold weather, rainy weather, full sun, etc.) An effective Pet Tech will be aware of their environment at all times and have the ability to act quickly at the first signs of behavioral issues. In addition to great dog handling skills, Pet Techs also need to possess exceptional customer relation skills to communicate with Pet Parents.

Schedule:

• Full-Time 40 Hours per week.
• Must have open availability starting at 6am and until as late as 11pm, Monday-Sunday.
• Typical schedule is 4 (four) 12-hour shifts each week, with a 2-hour unpaid break
• Shifts will vary depending on business needs.

Job Responsibilities include:

• 80% ensuring dogs are safe and getting along.
• 10% housekeeping work (floors, windows, poop scooping, disinfecting water bowls, etc.).
• 10% client interaction (providing feedback, charging for services, answering phone calls).

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year experience in a group play setting
• Basic dog bathing&grooming knowledge: Bathing, Nail Grind/Trims, Brushing, Teeth Brushing, etc.
• Must be comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds
• May be required to lift up to 60lbs
• Basic knowledge of common dog behaviors and the ability to identify unsafe play-styles and redirecting in real time as needed
• Extreme attention to detail, observant and alert
• Excellent Interpersonal Skills
• Reliable Transportation
• Exceptional Punctuality. Low tolerance for attendance issues.

Pay & Benefits:

• Starting pay is $16 per hour.
• Paid overtime.
• United Healthcare Premium Plan, Dental, Vision available after 60 days of employment. (50% paid by employer)
• 40 Hours PTO per year after 1 year of employment.
• 80 Hours PTO per year after 3 consecutive years of employment.
