- Maintaining a variety of accounts, prepare financial reports and statements in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements; maintain records of fund activities; analyzing and reconciling fund charges and direct necessary fund transfers.
- Preparing, reviewing, and verifying a variety of accounting, statistical, and narrative reports and documents.
- Reviewing and analyzing electronic and manual accounting systems and making recommendations for the development and modification of existing systems to improve procedures and ensure conformity to policy and accounting principles.
- Making day-to-day decisions relative to the accounting treatment of complex financial transactions and assisting in the development and modification of accounting systems to improve procedures; proposing changes in various aspects of the accounting system.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of a designated work unit; determine work procedures; prepare work schedules and determine methods for expediting work flow; assign, review, and approve the work of subordinate staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and develop performance measures and standards.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.
- Two or more years of professional accounting or auditing experience.
- Possession of Washington State Certification as a Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
- Governmental financial accounting and reporting work experience preferred.
- Asset accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Additional education and/or experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may be substituted for the recruiting requirements.

- A valid Washington State driver's license may be required when travel is required of the position.
