Piedmont Door Solutions (formerly Piedmont Door Automation) is looking to fill a position in our Birmingham, Alabama location for an Automatic Door Repair and Install Technician role with someone who is results-driven and excited about providing excellent customer service while using their mechanical-minded skills. The ideal Technician will be instrumental to the success of projects as they work on-site in customer locations.

Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain doors, turnstiles, revolving doors, and other various entrance and security products
• Complete daily service and installation requests while identifying solutions to known and potential issues
• Meet with customers onsite to review work before and after completion
• Partner with Piedmont Door Solutions' staff and dispatchers to facilitate the ordering of materials and parts necessary to complete services
• Complete dispatches and work orders accurately and in a timely fashion
• Track parts used and time spent on jobs
• Take detailed notes before, during, and after meeting with clients and after completing each job
• Manage parts and materials on your company-issued vehicle
• Operate in a safety-conscious and professional manner

Requirements and Skills:

• Minimum of one year of experience in one of the following: construction, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, military, or a similar field
• Basic knowledge of power tools, construction, and mechanical operations
• Skilled understanding of complex mechanical and electrical systems - or mechanically minded with a strong desire to learn more
• Comfortable managing all aspects of a workflow within a construction job site or similar environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organized, with strong attention to detail
• Able to learn new software and work order processes quickly and efficiently
• Eager to learn and develop new/current skills as opportunities present themselves
• Professional with clients, their customers, and your coworkers
• Desire to develop professionally in a long-term position within a growing company
• Willing and able to work overtime with the possibility of weekends, as necessary
• Unrestricted and valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in a non-climate-controlled environment
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Ability to work at heights and use a ladder
