Description: JOB PURPOSE: Supports multiple areas in the hospital such as cleaning and sanitizing furnishings in assigned work areas while following all established policies that are set in place related to the cleanliness and sanitization in Environmental Services, Dietary, and Cafeteria Departments. Additionally, may assist in transferring patients throughout the hospital campus in a safe and timely manner to maximize patient flow. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Sanitize all small wares, patient trays, pots & pans, electric power washer, and hand equipment in accordance with department, local, state and federal agency codes. 2. Maintain sanitation cleaning standards throughout the kitchen facility which includes pot scrubbing and cleaning fryers. 3. Complete daily tasks timely and accurately by ensuring the following: a. Patient tray line functions smoothly in the kitchen b. Patient trays are delivered and collected to and from nursing areas c. Assigned cleaning areas are completed d. Acquiring transportation equipment 4. Remove and dispose all trash from the kitchen preparation areas, back loading dock, receiving area, and storeroom. 5. Prepare cold food items according to Piedmont Healthcares established recipes and organize the pre-prepped foods in the refrigerators and coolers. 6. Assist with the production patient tray assembly line, ensuring the patient tray is completed timely and correctly based on meal ticket information. 7. Demonstrate teamwork with coworkers in order to complete daily duties in a timely fashion. 8. Performs all food related tasks in accordance with HACCP principles. 9. Clean and sanitize patient and non-patient facing areas up to and including hospitals common area, public restrooms, and patient rooms. 10. Use universal precaution while following all guidelines and procedures with chemicals 11. Keep storage area clean and organized when using equipment for cleaning or patient transport. Escalate to leaders when supplies are getting low. 12. Perform patient transport using proper techniques. 13. Ensure patient safety during ambulation and transport. Escalate to care team if any change of patient status is observed. Qualifications: MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED : None. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: HeartSaver CPR AED or BLS Card Required ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Restaurant experience is preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Must be able to listen and communicate successfully with patients, staff members and visitors. Must be able to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines. Must be able to work successfully both independently and with other team members. Must be able to read, write, and carry out oral and written instructions.
