About The Role:

As a Designer, you will be responsible for providing technical and hands-on support in creating transmission line design deliverables. 

What You Will Be Doing:

• Conduct detailed design of new transmission line structures (concrete, steel, & wood)
• Develop and modify design criteria utilizing industry standards and client specifications
• Prepare plan and profiles, staking sheets, bills of materials and stringing charts
• Develop pole loading, framing, and construction drawings
• Provide support to complete as-built revisions
• Coordinate design activities with other departments (Civil/Structural, Substation, etc.)
• Maintain a high level of quality and responsiveness in alignment with Pickett’s standards

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology (preferred)
• Associate degree or certificate in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technology (required)
• 5-7 years of hands-on drafting/design experience (required)
• Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
• Skilled in PLS CADD and PLS POLE software (required)
• Knowledge and proficiency with MicroStation (preferred)
• Understanding of industry standards (NESC, ANSI, IEEE)
• Ability to collaborate with team members as well as peers in the electrical utility industry
• Ability to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations
• Strong time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Able to communicate technical matters in an understandable and efficient manner
