Title: Mechanical Field Technician

Job Summary:
PIC Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Field Technician supporting construction of an industrial process facility in Alabama. The Mechanical Field Technician will report to the Project Manager and work closely with Construction Managers, Superintendents, Project Managers, and General Manager to support the construction project. The Mechanical Field Technician will also assist the Project Manager with project controls, including but not limited to daily management, budgeting, scheduling, and planning to ensure the project is constructed according to the project plans. Some duties may require outdoor activities including but not limited to working in a heavy industrial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist and support Project Manager with schedule, equipment, and resources to support an on-time and on-budget project.
• Communicate effectively with staff and clients to ensure the goals of the project are achieved.
• Troubleshoot plant operational issues and coordinate corrective action
• Develop and maintain all equipment inspection and maintenance logs/reports.
• Takes direction from assigned Lead.
• Participate in the On-the-Job training (OJT) of client personnel.
• Assist with construction activities in the field, including resolving field issues, and tracking installation as may be required.
• Produces daily activity reports as required.
• Oversight of craft labor in the execution of construction support activities
• Other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, industrial processes, practices, and systems to assist General Manager and Project Managers as needed
• Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
• Demonstratable abilities to utilize a computer for email communication, producing effective spreadsheets and producing word documents.
• Ability to troubleshoot plant operational issues and coordinate corrective action
• Ability to develop and maintain all equipment inspection and maintenance logs/reports.
• Participate in the On-the-Job training (OJT) of client personnel.
• Ability to support manufacturer and subcontractor staff in their commissioning activities.
• Ability to assist with construction activities in the field, including resolving field issues, and tracking installation as may be required.
• Ability to read and understand a project schedule
• Ability to provide daily activity reports as required.
• Ability to oversee craft labor in the execution of commissioning support activities

Physical Requirements:

• Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to use protective equipment correctly (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, etc.) most of the day.

Education / Experience:

• Technical degree or 3 years of relatable experience.
• Industrial construction experience preferred.
