Our client, a pioneer in the Build-to-Rent (BTR) sector, is committed to creating sustainable and vibrant communities for modern living. With an existing portfolio of over $1bn, they are looking for a motivated and dynamic Build-to-Rent Originator to join the team as they expand.

Position: Build-to-Rent (BTR) Originator

Location: on site 4 days/ week / Multiple Locations Available (including Midtown NYC, Boston, Miami, Dallas)

The Build-to-Rent Originator will play a pivotal role in driving expansion efforts by identifying and securing lucrative BTR opportunities across targeted regions. This position is ideal for a self-driven professional with a keen eye for real estate development opportunities and a passion for transforming communities through innovative housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Opportunity Identification: Scout for potential BTR development sites in strategic locations, leveraging market research, industry trends, and networking.

- Deal Origination: Initiate contact and develop relationships with landowners, developers, and brokers to source and secure development projects.

- Feasibility Studies: Conduct initial feasibility studies on potential BTR projects, assessing financial viability, market demand, and alignment with company strategy.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal teams, including underwriting, finance, and development, to ensure a seamless transition from origination to project execution.

- Market Intelligence: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the BTR market, including regulatory changes, competitor activity, and market trends, to inform strategic decisions.

- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on potential opportunities, market insights, and progress against targets.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in real estate development, acquisition, or a related field, with a proven track record in deal origination.

- Strong understanding of the BTR sector and real estate market dynamics.

- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and networking skills.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

- Willingness to travel as needed to meet business requirements.
