Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Patient Care Coordinator. The Patient Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and providing excellent customer service in a medical office setting. This position requires strong administrative skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently
- Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and provide information about services
- Verify insurance coverage and assist patients with insurance-related questions
- Collect patient information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient care as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and waiting room
- Assist with billing tasks, including processing payments
- Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless patient care coordination
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a front desk or administrative role, preferably in a medical office setting
- Proficiency in using phone systems and computer software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records and handling confidential information
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient privacy
