Phoenix Children's Hospital is Hiring a Supv, Gift Shop Near Glendale, AZ

This position manages and oversees daily operational activities of the Gift Shop to ensure operations achieve and comply with established operating budget, quality control, inventory management, and customer service standards at the direction of the Gift Shop Manager.

Position Duties

  • Supervises daily operational activities of the Gift Shop by monitoring quality and effectiveness of workflow. Resolves problems and oversees processes to achieve established sales and customer service standards.
    • Develops and maintains staff schedule; utilizes established volume and workflow indicators to adjust staffing accordingly to ensure continuous compliance with department goals.
    • Maintains competency in technology tools, systems and software utilized within the department.
    • Proactively evaluates systems, practices, and assists to create and implement changes to increase and enhance the effectiveness of the operations.
  • Provides a high level of customer service to those shopping both in store and online
    • Fulfills online orders in a timely manner
    • Assists customers in store, online and via phone by suggesting merchandise and offering sales support
    • Resolves any customer concerns and complaints in real time, escalating concerns to department manager where appropriate
    • Incorporates customer feedback in future operational planning and decisions
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate inventory levels of merchandise based on analysis of purchasing patterns of store patrons.
    • Regularly initiates complete physical inventory of store items to ensure accuracy of records.
    • Initiates recommendations for alternative product selections and/or changes in merchandise mix and pricing levels to assist reduce operating expenses through increasing sales volume and inventory turns
  • Supervises completion of all financial transactions to ensure accurate recording and deposit of cash and cash equivalent receipts; identifies discrepancies and initiates action as appropriate to recover funds.
    • Follows standard operating procedures as trained in order to limit inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory valuation.
    • Brings any financial discrepancies to the attention of the gift shop manager in a timely manner for resolution
  • Develops and supervises staff through provision of timely feedback and use of appropriate Human Resource policies and tools to facilitate and ensure the ability of staff to achieve highest level of professional growth and desired performance standards.
    • Works with the Manager to train, support and supervise both staff and volunteers that report to the Gift Shop.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
