Posting Note:Phoenix Childrens Hospital is seeking a Hematopathologist to join the professional staff of the Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The Hematopathologist must be board-certified or board-eligible in Hematopathology. The hematopathologist will join a growing diagnostic service with two other staff hematopathologists. The case mix currently includes approximately 750 peripheral blood smears, 550 bone marrow studies, 100 lymph node evaluations, 400 flow cytometric immunophenotyping studies, and 1450 cytology specimens annually.The candidate must have special interest in both neoplastic and non-neoplastic hematologic disorders of infants, children, and adolescents. Additional expertise in cytopathology, primary immune deficiency evaluation, and/or minimal residual disease testing is desirable. Although not required, candidates with dual subspecialty board certification are encouraged to apply and would have opportunity to continue practice in their desired fields. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished pediatric hematopathologist with excellence in clinical and scientific knowledge, teaching ability, scholarship, and leadership. Leadership opportunity is available for the qualified candidate. The hematopathologist will become a member of the Phoenix Childrens Medical Group and will report to the Division Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Professionalism, leadership, interpersonal communication skills, adaptability, and growth mindset are essential. Active involvement in resident, fellow and medical student teaching through affiliated programs is expected. Academic appointments are strongly encouraged through our relationships with University of Arizona-Phoenix College of Medicine, Creighton University School of Medicine, and Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
